Bango wins Business Weekly Quoted Company of the Year Award

Bango is proud to have won the Business Weekly award for Quoted Company of the Year. This award is a great accolade and testament to the success of our business model and the progress Bango continues to make.

The award is focused on companies based in the East of England, an area that is home to some of the most successful technology companies. This area – dubbed ‘Silicon Fen’ and centered around Cambridge – is recognized as one of the most important technology hubs in the world. It has produced global success stories such as ARM, Worldpay, Raspberry PI, Dark Trace, Abcam & Cambridge Silicon Radio.

The award is given to the company that has delivered the best value to shareholders in the most recent 12 months, a time of major economic turbulence and huge uncertainty for investors. Public markets, and growth stocks in particular, experienced volatility and significant downward pricing pressure. Despite many growth companies, especially technology companies, losing considerable value in that time, Bango shares have shown great resilience.

Bango has a strong vision – to be the technology behind every payment choice – and a clear growth goal – to reach hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. To keep shareholders better informed, especially in this recent period of uncertainty, Bango increased the information available to investors on our growth plans and how we will achieve this goal. The feedback has been positive, something we believe is reflected in the stability of the Bango share price.

Many of Bango’s largest shareholders are long-term holders, believing in the potential for Bango to become significantly more valuable than it is today. Over the last 12 months, the Bango shareholder base has increased and diversified, with the addition of many high-quality investors from across the globe. In particular, our largest shareholder and strategic partner NHN has demonstrated its confidence in the Bango growth journey, building-up its stake from less than 5% to nearly 14%.

Bango continues to work hard to grow the business and deliver value for shareholders. In the most recent quarter, Bango shares delivered c.40% growth for shareholders. The acquisition of NTT Docomo’s global payments business, which completed on 29 August this year, further strengthens Bango’s position as a leader in the online commerce market and the upside potential for shareholders.
